The Principle of Radical Non-Duality - A Look

Dec 21, 2011

The Principle of Radical Non-Duality describes the conditions that a universe must satisfy if its foundation shall be truly invisible. To give an example: According to this principle the Smallest and the Largest must necessarily coincide.

This insight was essentially inspired by Cusa's Doctrin of the Coincidentia Oppositorum. During his voyage back to Venice in 1438 Cusanus had a vision concerning the true nature of the One. He discovered that maximum and mininum have to coincide. This vision inspired him to write his first important philosophical-theological work: On Learned Ignorance (De Docta Ignorantia)

It seems that our universe does satisfy the above-mentioned spatial condition.

The Fundamental Matrix /(FM)

Dec. 21, 2011

As the Principle of Radical Non-Duality has its origin in the ONE, it is the most fundamental principle so far. Hence, all conditions that can be deduced from it, are of fundamental nature as well; in other words: They are exclusively conditioned by the ONE - and nothing else.

How to apply this Principle

Boundary conditions at infinity turn out to be necessary in order to specify solutions of the field equations of general relativity. But they are not a natural part of it: They had instead to be added from outside as an extra and artificial hypotheses. Due to this lack Albert Einstein tried to get rid of them, but all his attempts failed.

If we look at the "fundamental matrix" (FM), we can see, boundary condition at infinity (that means, the Universe has to be infinite and Euclidean at infinity) are natural part of it. All necessary specifications can be found within this fundamental matrix. Therefore we can interpret boundary conditions of infinity as a kind of "sub-principle" of the more general principle of radical non-duality.

Historical Note

Nicholas of Cusa's figura paradigmatica from his 1441/2 On Surmises (De Coniecturis), translated by Jasper Hopkins.

"Conceive of a pyramid-of-light as progressing into darkness and of a pyramid-of-darkness as progressing into light; and reduce to [that] figurative conception everything that can be investigated, so that by guidance from what is perceptible you can turn your surmise toward hidden [truths]. And in order that you may be aided by means of an example, consider the universe as reduced to the diagram here below. Notice that God, who is Oneness, is as the base-of-light; but the base-of-darkness is as nothing. Every creature, we surmise, lies between God and nothing" (p182).

The figura paradigmatica is the key to a deeper physical under-standing of the Coincidentia Oppositorum
